How Rotational Dining Works
DCL's rotational dining system is elegantly simple: you have the same dinner table, the same waitstaff (head server and assistant server), and the same dining companions every night — but the restaurant rotates. Your servers get to know your preferences, dietary needs, allergies, and personalities over the course of the sailing, then move with you to the next restaurant. It's one of DCL's most beloved innovations and results in service that feels genuinely personal rather than transactional.
The Rotational Restaurants
Each ship has three main dining rooms, each with a completely different theme and menu. On the Disney Wish, you rotate through Arendelle (Frozen-themed), 1923 (California elegance), and World of Marvel (interactive Avengers dinner show). On the Fantasy: Enchanted Garden (French garden), Royal Court (princess ballroom), and Animator's Palate (interactive animation). Menus change each night, so even though you're in a different room, your favorite dish from the first restaurant isn't available again.
Palo — The Adults-Only Italian Restaurant
Palo is DCL's beloved adults-only (18+) specialty restaurant, offering Northern Italian cuisine in an elegant setting with panoramic ocean views. Available on every DCL ship, Palo offers both dinner and brunch service. The brunch is legendary — antipasto spread, made-to-order pasta, beautiful desserts, and mimosas. Dinner is more formal. Both cost approximately $45 per person and represent exceptional value relative to land-based fine dining. Book Palo the moment your booking window opens — it fills up.
Remy (Disney Fantasy) — The Pinnacle
On the Disney Fantasy, Remy is the ultimate specialty dining experience — a French tasting menu inspired by the film Ratatouille, set in a Michelin-quality environment. Multiple courses, wine pairings, and service that rivals the world's best restaurants. At approximately $125-150 per person, it's significantly more expensive than Palo but considered by many DCL loyalists to be the best restaurant experience at sea.
Dining with Dietary Restrictions
DCL excels at accommodating dietary restrictions — vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, kosher, halal, severe allergies, and more. Note your restrictions when booking and they'll be communicated to your dining team. Your servers will confirm your needs each night, and the kitchen prepares appropriate alternatives as a matter of course. Guests with significant restrictions consistently report that DCL handles them better than almost any other cruise line or restaurant chain.
Casual Dining & Included Options
Beyond rotational dining, DCL offers Cabanas (the main buffet), pool deck quick-service (burgers, pizza, soft serve), and in-stateroom room service (small delivery fee for most items, but some items like a fruit plate are complimentary). These are all included in your cruise fare. Specialty coffee, fresh-squeezed juices, and alcohol are additional costs, as are specialty dining reservations.
